How is Ryde funded?
Our camper fees (from girl’s and family camping) cover our basic operating costs. The fees are kept intentionally low in order to make camp accessible for as many as possible. Capital costs, major repairs/upgrades, the campership fund, staff bursary fund, staff development, new programming and more are all funded by donations. These are all essential areas that make our camp the special place that it is. We depend on the generosity of many individuals and various groups to help us meet these needs. Donations may be made by cheque or online through CanadaHelps.org (please note that there is a small administration fee for donations made through CanadaHelps.org) All donations are acknowledge.ith a receipt for income tax purpose.
All those who support Ryde in so many ways!
How can you show your support?
1. Become a Work Weekend volunteer
So much important work is accomplished on these weekends. From painting, brush-clearing, cleaning, waterfront preparations, to meal preparation . . . there is a job for everyone!
Meals/accommodation are provided. Come for a day or the full weekend. This is a great way for your teen to get volunteer hours.
See the Special Events link for upcoming dates.
2. Attend Ryde’s fundraising events: the Fall Open House/Hike-a-thon and the Annual Fundraiser Dinner/Silent Auction in November
3. Donate an item for the Silent Auction - the success of the auction depends on the treasures donated!
Some suggestions . . . a favorite home-baked item, home-made preserves, a craft, a re-gifted item. Or do you have a connection to a business or service that could donate an item?
4. Consider a financial donation to the General Fund, the Ryde Lake Camp Endowment Fund. Donations are an essential part of Ryde’s well-being! You can donate directly to Ryde by sending a cheque to the camp office. Cheques should be made out to: Ryde Lake Camp. Or an online donation may be made by clicking on the CanadaHelps.org link below.
Ryde Lake Camp is a registered charitable organization.
All donations over $20 will receive a receipt for income tax purposes.
